March 13, 2008 - Que and Cruz
2008 - MABA Sanctioned Contest
MABA is pleased to announce that MABA is sanctioning the 2008 Que and Cruz
competition to be held in Louisa, VA. The contest is being held July 18-18,
2008. Bill the Grill Guy has put alot of time and effort into getting this going
and is looking for more teams to enter. Please support Bill and MABA by signing
up to compete.

March 5, 2008 - Revised TOY
Information Posted
A revised document outlining the MABA Team of the Year (TOY) has been
prepared and posted on the website (see link on the lefthand navigation bar).
The decision was made to re-align the annual accrual period to a calendar year
versus an offset year. This will result in the crowning of a TOY retroactively
for 2007, and help to organize points. If you have any questions, feel free to
contact one of the board members.
March 4, 2008 - Open Casting Call for
new Food Network Show (Grill It!)

Association,
Let your members know that we have an
Open Call on Friday March 7th in NYC. They must bring their dish to audition.
They can e-mail us for details. The Food Network is casting amazing
grillers for it's new show! We would appreciate if you could forward this to
your members to see if they would be interested. We are looking for both male
and female grillers. Below is the casting notice.

GRILL IT! WITH BOBBY FLAY ON THE FOOD
NETWORK!
Are you a Master Griller? Are all
barbeques held at your house? If you're a serious griller (charcoal or gas) and
have the skills to prove it, then live out your culinary fantasy on Bobby Flay's
new half hour GRILL IT! series on the Food Network. To apply, please create a 3-minute
VHS Tape or DVD in which you cook us your favorite dish. Tell us how you created
the recipe and the ingredients you use. All applicants must have a terrific
personality and must illustrate why you'd make a fantastic candidate for GRILL
IT! with Bobby Flay! Unlike "Throwdown
with Bobby Flay" this is not a competition, instead GRILL IT! shows people how
to grill with a well-stocked kitchen. All applicants must live in the U.S
and be 18 and over (although quick-witted teenagers with parents' permission can
apply). Professional chefs need not apply. No
drop-ins please! To be considered, please mail your
submission tape, original recipe and photo of yourself to the address below no
later than March 15th.
